Organizing Committee, we invite you to participate in the 16<sup>th<\/sup> International Conference GeoRAMAN2024, which will be held from 24 to 27 September 2024 in Rhodes, Greece.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The GeoRAMAN International Conference is organized for the first time in Greece, by the National Technical University of Athens, following an honorary proposal of the GeoRAMAN International Scientific Advisory Committee (GRISAC) and concerns applications of RAMAN spectroscopy in the geosciences.\u00a0 It will take place on 24-27 September 2024, at the premises of the University of the Aegean in Rhodes, Greece.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 16<sup>th<\/sup> International Conference GeoRAMAN2024 is expected to attract scientists from many universities and research centres in Greece as well as from many countries in Europe, America and China.\u00a0 It touches on topics of geosciences, materials science, cultural heritage, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Traditional fields of the conference are mineralogy-petrology, cultural heritage, gemology, planetary geology, and geobiology\/exobiology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year, on the initiative of the Greek organizing committee of the conference, a new field &#8220;geo-environment and geo-energy&#8221; is introduced. It concerns a wide range of applications of Raman spectroscopy such as:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>in green energy issues such as in underground geological CO<sub>2<\/sub> storage systems for real-time monitoring of gas escapes, CO<sub>2<\/sub> mineralization, or in the search for the identification of white or &#8220;geological&#8221; hydrogen deposits,<\/li>\n<li>in the detection and identification of microplastics and other (emerging) contaminants in soil and water resources,<\/li>\n<li>in the characterization of mining\/metallurgical and general industrial waste for reuse in the context of the circular economy,<\/li>\n<li>in the study of new \u201cgreen\u201d materials,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We invite you to submit your paper and actively participate in the conference events.
