\u201cPavement Engineering towards Smart Cities\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

A very interesting topic this time for the 16th EULiST \u201cFridays for Research\u201d event: \u201cPavement Engineering towards Smart Cities\u201d. The event will be held as a joint online meeting on Friday, 30 October 2026, from 12:00 to 14:00 CET.<\/p>\n

Representatives from the EULiST member universities will deliver 5-minute presentations on the following indicative topics:<\/p>\n

• Circularity & low-carbon (reclaimed asphalt pavements, bio-binders, warm-mix, piezoelectric materials)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
  \n
  • Climate adaptation (permeable, cool pavements)<\/li>\n
  • Smart sensing (embedded & non-destructive testing sensors)<\/li>\n
  • Digital twins (data-driven\/predictive pavement maintenance, Artificial Intelligence)<\/li>\n
  • Mobility & safety (friction, roughness)<\/li>\n
  • Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of pavements (environmental and social impact)<\/li>\n
  • Urban environmental monitoring (flooding, noise, air quality, urban microclimate)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This event will be followed by a 10-minute conversation to encourage more research partnerships.<\/p>\n

    A review of the main results and a presentation of the next actions will wrap up the session.<\/p>\n
